Capo di Feno, a wild beach on a bigger scale.

From the villa, Capo di Feno shows another side of the Gulf of Ajaccio: rawer, more open, almost oceanic.

A rawer beach than Ruppione.

Ruppione is the villa's everyday beach: close, easy, familiar. Capo di Feno plays a different role. You go there for space, wind, waves, rocks and wilder sunsets.

This outing appeals to lovers of big landscapes, photography and lively seas. Depending on the weather, the mood can be gentle or powerful; that is what gives it its character.

A day trip to pair with Ajaccio.

Capo di Feno can be combined with a day around Ajaccio, the Parata or the Sanguinaires. You go further than the beach opposite, but the villa remains your base to come back to: terrace, shower, a simple meal and a quiet night.

In spring and autumn this beach takes on a special dimension. You come here to walk, breathe, watch the sea and find a wider Corsica, far from the busiest summer hours.

A beach for lovers of open space.

Capo di Feno attracts those who love wilder beaches. The landscape is wider, the sea more open, the mood sometimes windier. You do not come here for the ease of Ruppione, but for a feeling of the end of the world right next to Ajaccio.

Plan this trip according to the weather. When the sea is rough, the beach becomes spectacular but calls for caution. As the light drops, the colours change quickly and photos become very striking. A perfect outing for those who want to walk, look and feel a rawer Corsica.

From Villa Iché-Poggi, Capo di Feno rounds off a day around Ajaccio or the Sanguinaires nicely. You can leave after a calm morning at Ruppione, have lunch on the way, then end on this big beach before heading back to the south shore.

The variety of beaches enriches the stay. Ruppione offers everyday closeness, Mare e Sole clear water, Isolella easy walks, Capo di Feno wild space. In a few days you discover several faces of the Ajaccio coastline.

Capo di Feno, the wild beach that complements Ruppione.

Ruppione is the beach on the doorstep, the one you enjoy effortlessly from the villa. Capo di Feno belongs to another family of landscapes: wider, more open, rawer, with a feeling of the end of the world at the gates of Ajaccio. The two experiences do not replace each other — they complement each other. You choose Ruppione for ease, the beach restaurant, the surf school and quick returns to the terrace. You choose Capo di Feno for the excursion, the wind, the photos, the light and the sense of space.

From Villa Iché-Poggi, Capo di Feno is best treated as an outing in its own right. Take water, good shoes if you want to walk around, and plan to take your time. Depending on season and weather, the mood can change a lot. In summer you come for a big, wilder beach. Outside summer, it is above all the strength of the landscape: waves, rocks, horizon, low light.

Pairing Capo di Feno with the Sanguinaires or Ajaccio.

To build a coherent day, you can pair Capo di Feno with the Sanguinaires road, the Parata or an evening in Ajaccio. That turns a simple beach outing into a real trip around the bay: the Sanguinaires islands for the sunset, the Porticcio–Ajaccio shuttle boat to reach the city another way, and boat trips for those who want to compare activities.

Capo di Feno also appeals to photographers and to holidaymakers who do not like going to the same beach every day. It is a great reason to visit in low season: when swimming is not the only goal, the coastline becomes a place for walking, light and contemplation.

Coming back to an easy home after a wild beach.

Coming back to Ruppione matters. After a rawer beach, finding a practical base, a familiar road, nearby shops and the terrace feels comfortable. The villa's apartments allow exactly that balance. Brustianu, Codicerta or Vermentinu suit small groups; Aleatico, Muresconu, Niellucciu and Sciaccarellu cover family stays and holidays with friends.

Capo di Feno widens the horizon of your stay: the villa is not only near a practical beach, it places you on a south shore open to Ajaccio, the Sanguinaires, Coti-Chiavari and the great landscapes of South Corsica.

Capo di Feno, the wild beach that complements Ruppione.

Capo di Feno has to be earned. Reached by a track or a short walk, this wild beach offers a complete change of scene less than 30 minutes from Ruppione. No beach bar, no rows of parasols — just sand, cliffs and remarkably clear water.

How to get to Capo di Feno from Ruppione?

From Villa Iché-Poggi, head towards Ajaccio then follow signs towards the point. The final track is passable in an ordinary car in dry weather. In summer it is best to leave early to find a parking space — the site attracts many day visitors.

You can also combine this outing with a walk on the coastal path linking the Sanguinaires to Capo di Feno along the shore — one of the finest coastal hikes in the area.

A full day between beach and heritage.

Set off early, enjoy the beach in the morning, then drive up to Ajaccio to visit the Fesch museum or the covered market. Lunch in town, a coffee by the harbour, and back to Ruppione for a last swim in the late afternoon. A day with no dull moment that shows the best of the area.

In autumn and spring, Capo di Feno is almost deserted — a radically different experience from summer. The low morning light on the cliffs is especially photogenic.
