Céténaves and Isolella: the rocks that give the south shore its character.
A few minutes from Ruppione, Isolella offers an easy, very photogenic walk among clear water, sculpted rocks, a Genoese tower and the light of the Bay of Ajaccio.
A landscape close by, yet already very different from Ruppione.
Ruppione is the everyday beach of Villa Iché-Poggi: you just cross the road to find the sand, the beach restaurant, the surf school and the sea right in front. Isolella plays another role in your stay. You go there to walk, look at the rocks, see the bay from a different angle and take time to feel the south shore differently.
The Céténaves are one of those local details that stay in your memory. These rocks set at the water's edge give the coastline an almost graphic shape. Depending on the time of day they turn pale, golden, grey, sometimes almost black against the blue. For a traveller, it is the kind of place that turns a simple walk into a visual memory.
From the villa, the appeal is obvious: no need to organise a big excursion. You can go in the morning, in the late afternoon or between two swims. Close enough to keep it simple, beautiful enough to feel you have discovered a real corner of Corsica.

Coves, clear water, rocks and views of the peninsula to bring the story to life.

A selection of local photos showing the real atmosphere around the Céténaves and the peninsula.

Combining the Céténaves, the tower and the fitness trail.
The Isolella peninsula is perfect for short loops. You can look at the Céténaves, walk towards the tower, carry on along the fitness trail, then come back to the beaches. The Pietrosella municipality promotes the Isolella tower fitness trail and its outdoor fitness area: useful landmarks for travellers who want to stay active without going far, jog gently, walk as a family or keep up a sports routine on holiday.
This closeness matters. It shows that a stay here is not limited to one beach, even though Ruppione beach remains the immediate highlight. In a few minutes you can go from sand to a peninsula walk, from a swim to a photo of the rocks, from a calm morning to a more active late afternoon.
For families, Isolella is reassuring: the outing stays short, easy to follow and easy to adapt to the heat and the children's ages. For couples it is a gentle walk, beautiful out of season when the light catches the rocks and the coast breathes. For photographers, the Céténaves give strong foregrounds, with the sea, the pines and the mineral shapes.
A perfect idea outside high season.
In spring the maquis around Isolella regains its colours. Flowers, scents, pines and the blue sea create a very different atmosphere from summer. In autumn temperatures often stay pleasant and the evenings become softer. It is a good reason for a short 3-night break outside high season: you do not only come to sunbathe, you come to breathe, walk, look and discover.
Villa Iché-Poggi lends itself to a simple rhythm: morning at Ruppione, lunch on the terrace, a walk at Isolella past the Céténaves, then back to the beach or to a good restaurant nearby. A plan for visitors who want beauty without complication.
Building a day around Isolella.
A day can start on Ruppione beach, continue with some shopping or a coffee, then move to Isolella in the late morning. Take time to walk, photograph the rocks, look at the tower and choose a cove depending on the weather. When the sea is calm, the colour of the water is a reason in itself. When the wind picks up, the rocks and waves give the landscape another kind of power.
To extend the day, you can go on to Mare e Sole, come back via Ruppione or plan a wider outing towards Coti-Chiavari. See also: walks in the local guide, weather and sea conditions, the Ruppione surf school and apartment availability.
