Off-season holiday rentals in Corsica: May, June, September and October at Ruppione
Visiting Corsica off-season means quiet beaches, a pleasant sea and gentler prices. Here is why spring and autumn are the loveliest times to rent an apartment facing Ruppione beach.

Why rent in Corsica outside the high season?
In July and August, Corsica is full: busy roads, crowded beaches and prices at their peak. Before and after, the island returns to its own rhythm. At Ruppione, on the south shore of the Gulf of Ajaccio, you simply cross the road and find yourself on a beach that is almost your own, in the morning as well as at the end of the day.
May and June: the maquis in bloom
The maquis is in flower: pink rock roses and everlasting flowers cover the hills all the way down to the sea. The water is clear, still fresh in May and softer in June. It is the perfect time to go walking without the summer heat, towards the Isolella tower or along the customs officers' path in Ajaccio. Also worth reading: The maquis in spring at Ruppione.
September and October: the sea still warm
The sea holds on to its summer warmth: on 18 October 2026, the water at Ruppione was still 24 °C, and 23.2 °C on 22 October. The beaches become peaceful again. Ajaccio can be visited without the crowds, the beach restaurants are still serving, and it is the time for day trips: Corte and its citadel, Lake Tolla and the Bridal Veil waterfall.

Surfing and paddleboarding out of season
In autumn, westerly swells roll onto Ruppione beach: it is the wave season for surfers. On calmer days, the crystal-clear sea is ideal for paddleboarding and for snorkelling along the rocks of Isolella. For diving, check opening dates with the dive clubs in Porticcio.

A typical week in September
- Day 1: arrival, a swim and sunset on Ruppione beach.
- Day 2: a stroll to Isolella and its Genoese tower.
- Day 3: Ajaccio, then sunset at the Sanguinaires Islands.
- Day 4: day trip to Corte and the Restonica gorges.
- Day 5: beach, surfing or paddleboarding at Ruppione.
- Day 6: Lake Tolla or the Bridal Veil waterfall.
- Day 7: Porticcio market in the morning, before you leave.

The All Saints' holidays: “A chacun son automne”
Since 2022, the Pays d'Ajaccio tourist office has run “A chacun son automne” (“An autumn for everyone”) during the All Saints' school holidays: around twenty activities with local partners, such as canyoning at Bocognano, boat trips to the Sanguinaires Islands, a sunset yoga walk at Coti-Chiavari, or visits to producers of charcuterie, honey and cheese. The programme for the year is published on ajaccio-tourisme.com. The villa is open until 28 November.

Shorter stays and gentler prices
Outside July and August, short stays from 3 nights are possible, subject to availability. Discounts apply from 7 nights in low and mid season. If you are travelling as a group and renting several apartments, the group discount ranges from −10% for 2 or 3 apartments to −20% for the whole villa, in low season.
Which apartment should you choose?
For a stay for two: Codicerta, Brustianu or Vermentinu; the last two sleep up to 3 people, with a double bed and a single bed in the same bedroom. For families: Aleatico, Muresconu or Niellucciu. For friends or several families together: Sciaccarellu, for 9 people, or several apartments combined. The villa is open from spring to autumn: check your dates in our booking bar.
